Make sure this is actually the step you are on. If an item or prompt is missing, backtrack one room and check the inventory first.
Level 0.11 Overview
The video begins with the preparation route that feeds into the flooded, decaying corridor section. The first job is to open the storage locker and take the chainsaw. After cutting the correct barrier, the route loads into the actual Water Damage maze. From there the run has three clear phases: follow the environmental trail, open the timed shutter while avoiding Bacteria, then cross the courtyard and unlock the elevator.
Two details are easy to mix up. The symbol lock and first wooden barrier are the approach to Level 0.11, while the four-lever shutter is the level's main timed puzzle. The optional crowbar opening shown near the start is a return path, not the way forward.
Open the Locker and Prepare the Chainsaw Route
Read or enter the fixed symbol sequence
Set Shadow Quality to High if you want to reveal the projected symbol clues normally. Each numbered clue maps to a shape, and the finished locker sequence is Square → Circle → Arrow. The answer is fixed in the current build, so players who already know it do not need to repeat the lighting check.
Take the chainsaw from the locker and cut the long plank blocking the forward route. One clean cut creates a gap that can be crossed with a jump and crouch; cutting again opens more of the doorway. Do not spend fuel or time sawing solid sections that are not covering the passage. Some doors in the current release open without being cut even though older routes show boards on them, so test the handle before using the saw.
Navigate the Damp Corridors Without Losing the Route
Use the level's environmental trail
Once the level changes to the dark, wet corridors, stop looking for a single painted sign. The reliable route is a combination of water on the floor, drifting smoke, leeches, and painted arrows. When two doors appear, the video takes the left side. Three arrows close together are the clearest confirmation that the lever area is nearby.
Bacteria begins patrolling around the lever rooms. Its starting facing direction can vary, so seeing its back once does not make the hall safe. It is faster than a running player in this section. Break line of sight early, close a room door if possible, or climb into a vent and wait for the chase audio to fade. Long straight sprints usually end with the entity catching up.
Solve the Four-Lever Shutter Gate
Find the changing rooms before starting the timer
There are four levers in total. The lever beside the exit gate and one nearby room are dependable landmarks; two of the active rooms can change between attempts. Search the area first and remember the shortest line between them. A lit room is useful evidence, but do not assume every door has the same state after a team wipe.
Every pulled lever slowly returns toward its starting position. In solo play the return is slow enough to run the route normally. With more players the timing becomes shorter, and a four-player lobby should treat the puzzle as a simultaneous interaction: put one person at each lever, confirm everyone is ready, then count down. Save the gate-side lever for last when playing alone.
After the shutter rises, anyone already through can use the lever on the far side to raise it again for teammates. Do not leave that player behind; the courtyard code is the next shared checkpoint.
Courtyard Windows and the 415314 Elevator Code
Why the number is not a random keypad guess
Look across the Level 188-style courtyard and note the positions of the illuminated windows. The nearby note explains that the window layout is the keypad clue. In the current game the resulting number is always 415314. Enter those six digits at the elevator keypad, step inside, and use the elevator to return to Level 8.
If the keypad refuses the answer, clear the input completely and enter one digit at a time. If the gate sends the group back to the lever area instead of loading the courtyard, regroup and repeat the intended lever route; community reports show that this transition has occasionally failed after a mistimed or desynchronized co-op attempt.
Version Notes, Bugs, and Optional PC Exploit
The final seconds demonstrate a PC-only timing exploit that uses repeated input while holding the border of a windowed game. Freezing the game thread can stop the levers from unwinding long enough to reach the shutter. Treat this as an optional speedrun trick, not the normal solution: it does not translate cleanly to consoles, can change after a patch, and can leave the window or interaction in a bad state.
- Symbols are hard to see: raise Shadow Quality, then toggle the clue again.
- A lever room looks empty: check the other open rooms; two useful room locations can change.
- The chainsaw seems unnecessary: current versions let some wooden doors open normally, but the initial boarded route still requires the tool.
- Bacteria camps the route: use a vent or closed room instead of trying to outrun it in a straight hall.
Route Facts to Keep in Mind
The actual level route begins in a damaged Level 0-style maze. While navigating that maze, spray-painted arrows on the walls are the dependable direction markers. The four timed levers open the gate beyond the main corridor area; the lever after that gate is mainly useful for reopening it for teammates.
Level 0.11 is reached by staying beyond the boarded passage in the Manila Room long enough to no-clip into it. The furnished rooms can contain supplies including Almond Water, Juice, Energy Bars, Liquid Pain, a flashlight, and a walkie-talkie, but the intended exit after the 415314 elevator is Level 8.
Escape the Backrooms Level 0.11 Video Walkthrough
We use this as the quick “don’t make the same mistake twice” checklist. If your room, spawn, or prompt does not match the video, stop and check the normal route first—patches and co-op timing can make an old shortcut look tempting when it simply will not work.
Look around slowly before guessing. Props can hide chairs, switches, notes, and pickups; a second camera angle is usually faster than brute force.
Call out what was pressed, collected, or opened. It prevents the classic “we all thought somebody did it” reset.
If a skip behaves inconsistently, leave it and take the intended route. A clean run beats getting stuck in geometry.
For Level 0.11, scout the random side rooms before starting the lever chain, then give each player a numbered switch. Count down the first pull, call every activation, and leave someone close enough to the shutter to hold the exit route while the rest catch up.
