Partygoer appearance and behavior
Appearance: A yellow humanoid with blood around its mouth, hands, and legs, usually holding a balloon. It may stand at a fixed point or roam depending on the level.
Behaviour: Level Fun uses close-range detection, tables, and balloon distractions. Level ! is a forced chase. Fun+ adds roaming Partygoers, while Level 52 turns crouch timing into an escort rule.
Threat scale: 5/5 — the score groups directory entries; the written threat label above remains the player-facing assessment.
Observed in: 4 documented routes in this guide set.
Where Partygoers change the route

The balloon is part of the encounter language
The blood-stained yellow humanoid is easy to recognise. What changes is not the model but the room around it: tables and loose balloons indicate stealth options, while the hospital corridor indicates a chase.
That makes the environment more useful than a generic danger rating. Look for the route tool before moving into detection range.

A table is a reset; a balloon is a route opener
When a Partygoer blocks the next lane, decide where you want it to move before touching a balloon. Triggering sound without a destination merely changes the patrol in a way you did not plan.
If spotted, break sight and get fully under the nearest usable table. Wait for the patrol to return before leaving; standing as soon as the footsteps pass the edge is how the same chase restarts.
The Level Fun Party Rooms walkthrough places the tables, balloon distractions, and final exit in one route.
What to do when a Partygoer notices you
Use the tool the current room provides: table, balloon, escort cue, or pure forward movement.
Recognition signal
A static Partygoer turning toward you starts a local chase; the red hospital trigger starts a route-wide chase; the Partypooper crouching is a direct movement instruction.
Best immediate response
In patrol rooms, break sight and get fully under a table. In Level !, sprint. In Level 52, stay behind the companion and crouch with it.
Reset the encounter
A table resets patrol pressure after sight is broken. Scripted chases reset only at the route exit. The Level 52 encounter resets by staying with the escort’s timing.
Partygoer tips for co-op
Cross a patrol sightline one at a time and call the nearest table. During a chase, follow one lane rather than overtaking through furniture. In Level 52, the entire group should mirror the escort’s crouch cue.
What ends runs: Assuming the balloon always freezes the AI or that every Partygoer can be waited out under the nearest furniture.
Partygoer patrol and chase points
These are route-level encounter notes, not a promise that an entity will always stand in one fixed spot.
Static and patrol positions near tables
A nearby table is the reset; a balloon can pull a blocking Partygoer away from the intended path.
Level ! hospital corridor
Six Partygoers join the Giant Smiler chase, so the only plan is forward movement.
Roaming patrol rooms
Tables remain the dependable reset while the Party Host phase releases additional pursuit pressure.
How to hide, distract, or run
In patrol rooms, crouch, keep table access, and use balloons only as deliberate distractions. In Level !, sprint the known obstacle line. In Level 52, copy the Partypooper’s crouch timing instead of passing it.
Partygoer route notes for solo and co-op
Use these as a short reset checklist. They describe what we change before, during, and after the encounter—not a script to follow blindly.
Level Fun patrol rooms
Solo: Stay crouched, keep a table within reach, and use a balloon only when it pulls the blocking Partygoer away from the route.
Co-op: Cross one at a time and name the table. Two players entering the same hiding gap can leave one body exposed.
Level ! hospital chase
Solo: Commit to the obstacle line and keep the camera forward. The six Partygoers and Giant Smiler cannot be handled with a table reset here.
Co-op: Follow the lead lane and do not overtake through beds or door frames.
Level 52 escort
Solo: Stay behind the Partypooper and crouch the moment it crouches. Passing it can trigger the static Partygoer and lose the companion.
Co-op: Mirror the same cue together. One standing teammate can turn a clean escort into a full chase.
Tables, balloons, chases, and escort cues
Read the room before choosing the tactic. Hide under a table after breaking sight in patrol areas; throw or pop a balloon only when it pulls the threat away from a planned lane; never try to wait out the scripted Level ! chase.
Tables need broken sight
Get fully underneath after turning a corner or breaking the Partygoer’s view. Do not treat the table edge as invulnerability while the entity is already touching you.
Balloons are distractions
Use them to pull a blocking Partygoer toward a different point. Their value is the lane they open, not a promise that every nearby AI remains frozen.
Level ! has no stealth phase
Six Partygoers run in front of the Giant Smiler. The correct response is the marked sprint until the exit.

Escape the Backrooms: The Party Rooms
Partygoers guard the Party Rooms; getting too close or entering their view starts a chase, while tables and balloons provide the designed reset and distraction.
Best response: Crouch, keep a table within reach, break sight before hiding, and use a balloon only to clear the next lane.

A pack of Partygoers runs in front of a Giant Smiler through the hospital chase.
Best response: Sprint the marked route, clear obstacles cleanly, and do not turn around or attempt to hide in the chase lane.

Three Partygoers roam the Party and Arcade sections; the Funhouse adds pressure when the Party Host spots the group or the timer advances.
Best response: Use tables as the reset, avoid close-range checks in the dark arcade, and leave an objective immediately when the patrol enters the room.

A static Partygoer encounter is tied to the Partypooper escort. Failing to crouch can trigger the attack and kill the companion first.
Best response: Stay behind the Partypooper, crouch when it crouches, and do not rush past the escort into the trigger area.

Partygoer questions
Quick answers for the point where a broad rule needs a concrete next action.
Can I always hide under a table?+
Only in the patrol areas that provide tables. It does not solve the Level ! chase.
Do balloons permanently freeze Partygoers?+
Treat balloons as distractions, not a permanent AI shutdown. Use the opening and keep moving.
Why does the Partypooper die in Level 52?+
A player can trigger the static Partygoer by failing the crouch cue or moving ahead of the escort. Stay behind and copy its posture.
